SuperMAD – Part 1

MAD architects of Beijing prescribes shock therapy for Chinatowns across the world.

Proposed as a self-sustaining ‘city’ complete with ‘authentic Chinese nature’, health resorts, sports facilities, lakes, and its very own ‘digital cemetery’ that according tothe designers ends the ‘historical theme park’ trend of Chinatowns throughout the world.

So my question: Does this read as authentically Chinese? Is this just replacing a ‘historical theme park’ with a contemporary one?

This is interesting in numerous ways so I’ll write more in Part II when I have more time.
